Discount Tire

Kinda bummed to do this because historically, their brand was excellent service. I just stopped by to get my air checked, pulled up behind another guy who did the same. When he drove away, one of the techs, standing in front of 3 industrial air compressors, literally after he topped off the last guy, told me their air check line was down and he wouldn’t help me. There are lots of tire places, that’s one way to separate yourself in the wrong way.

Generally I would say they do good work. Except for the fact that LITERALLY EVERY TIME I have been here they have not out the valve caps back on including losing my expensive branded metal ones. The last time I had tires done here they did not tighten the valve stem enough. So when I went to check the pressure before it road trip, the tire immediately started deflating. And of course there was no valve cap.

I really dislike fear being used as a sales tactic and being talked to like I am stupid, presumably because of my gender, when dealing with the automotive industry. I went to get my tire pressure checked (one of my tires deflated a bit) yesterday at Discount Tire in Columbia Heights. They had replaced a tire for me before, about a year ago, no issues. When I pulled in I relayed this to Nick, the "Workflow Manager" who asked "oh are you heading out of town?" I said yes, I am going to Wisconsin. He asked when. I said this weekend, he then proceeded to tell me my tires would not make it to Wisconsin. I looked at him and said, "And why is that? Are they going to burst into flames or something?" realizing where this was headed. He then said they were worn (which I knew) and if we got caught in rain they would hydroplane and and it would be very unsafe and could cause an accident. But, he could get some estimates on new tires. I said, ok, sure, I will look at some estimates. I was planning to get new tires soon, but not that soon. He came back a few minutes later with his business card and "midrange $650-900 and Best $1000-1300" written on it and presented it to me. I looked at him, slig

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had an outstanding experience with Derrick at Discount Tire. He truly went above and beyond to make sure my son and I were safe on the road. From the moment we arrived, he was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared about helping us find the best solution for our vehicle. In a time when great customer service can be hard to find, Derrick exceeded every expectation. He took the time to answer questions, explain everything clearly, and made the entire process stress-free. His kindness, honesty, and dedication to customer safety did not go unnoticed. Because of Derrick, I will absolutely be returning to Discount Tire for future tire and vehicle needs. Thank you for providing such exceptional service—it made all the difference!

WoW! This is exactly what quality customer service looks like! I purchased a tire online at a price the shop down the street (where my car was towed) couldn't even touch. My appointment was set for the next day, but I walked in early when I was notified via text that the tire was in stock. They were busy but still managed to squeeze me in and finish in under an hour! They even put my spare back under my SUV carriage for free, replaced the valve covers, and double-checked that I was completely taken care of before I left. True pros. I’m new to the area and officially found a shop I can trust!!
